It goes beyond belief
It goes beyond belief, it goes beyond concept or idea, it goes beyond trying to accumulate any merit, it goes beyond, how long you have been practicing, it goes beyond how much you meditate, it goes beyond how well you know the sutras or the bible, it goes beyond how many times you go to church, synagogue, mosque, or temple, its all about pureness of heart, and mind and then live and act in COMPLETE LOVE.
In the New Testament St. Paul writes:
If I speak in the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal.
If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but have not love, I am nothing.
If I give all I possess to the poor and surrender my body to the flames, but have not love, I gain nothing.
Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud.
It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.
Its not about the title of I am a Buddhist, I am a Christian, I am a Hindu, I am this or that, or I believe in God, or I believe in Buddha, or I believe in Jesus, or Kirshna, none of those things matters, its about living in love.
But love cannot be activated when their is defilement in the mind and heart. Love cannot reside in filth, in lust, in pride, in hate, in anger, these things must go in order to really have love flow like a river of water in your life.
Once you renounce these things, love automatically appears in your thinking in your attitude. That is why meditation is key to removing defilement.
Get rid of any thing that will impede you from discovering True Self, your inner Buddha, God within. Let not ego win your heart over. If ego is king of your life, then you will not experience true happiness, true joy, true peace, you will end up looking for it in all the wrong places.
It is better to know, than to just believe. Let love be the main ingredient in everything we do.
