The Fall – Rev.Yao Feng Shakya
There will come a day when I leave…
And when I do I want everyone to know
How much I love them and care for them.
I am so sorry for not being a better person,
For not being an enlightened Buddha.
For being caught up in myself and my life.
I know now that my life is not mine, it is ours,
Shared with all my family and friends. The world.
How many lives did it take me to get it right,
Only to fall again and know that I am a human being.
With all the fears, hopes and desires of being alive.
Not ever wanting to die. I got lost along the way.
We are all the same.
I love you and I always will.
I did not die, nor did I cry
I left this home for another nest.
Another life another day another death.
Please do not be sad, life does not end.
It never has and never will.
New beginnings are all around.
God I love you so much.
Listen for me when the wind blows,
I am high up in the trees with thoughts
Of loving you eternally.
